Wesal is a WordPress-based employee intranet designed and developed by Stand Out for the Pilgrim Experience Program, one of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 programs. The platform brings internal communication, employee resources and work tools into one secure digital environment.
Problem
When COVID-19 disrupted normal workplace operations in 2020, the Pilgrim Experience Program needed an online platform that could keep departments and employees connected and productive while working remotely. Internal news, documents, tasks and employee resources needed to be accessible from one trusted environment, with controlled publishing permissions and without requiring employees to manage separate login credentials.
Solution
Stand Out, a Jeddah-based digital agency, designed and developed Wesal, a private WordPress employee intranet customized to the Pilgrim Experience Program’s brand guidelines. Employees access the platform using their existing Microsoft Active Directory accounts, with role-based permissions for publishing and content management. Wesal includes internal news, events, employee occasions, public and HR announcements, direct employee chat, Asana task integration, a digital brand identity hub, policies and regulations, program information, reports, achievements and employee discounts. The platform runs on the Pilgrim Experience Program’s own server infrastructure.
